Dear CEPC Family,
We are honored to host Samaritan’s Purse again in support of their relief response to the damages caused by last week’s Big Freeze. They contacted me Thursday morning, and by unanimous consent of the Session, they were approved to use our facilities as their operations base and will begin their setup this weekend, February 26 & 27.
Samaritan’s Purse is currently expecting to be onsite through March and possibly into the beginning of April, depending on the demand for their services. Just as before (in the wake of Hurricane Harvey), they will have several trailers parked in our southwest parking lot and in the Barn parking lot. We will be housing possibly over 40 staff and volunteers each night, with the men staying in the Barn and the women staying in some of our classrooms in the Administration Building. They will have their own cook who will be using our main kitchen, and they will use the Chapel as their primary dining and meeting room during this time.
If you or someone you know would like to volunteer with Samaritan's Purse in their relief efforts in Houston, please sign up here: Samaritan's Purse Winter Storm Response.
Naturally this adds an extra dimension to the scheduling and use of our facilities and may require some extra grace to accommodate everyone’s needs during this relief effort.
Dave DeBruler has been assigned to work with Lorenzo Torres, project manager for Samaritan’s Purse, to coordinate ministry event schedules and facility needs.
